Getting your first well-paying content job can take a while. Many writers are desperate and willing to work for peanuts, but those who produce quality content can get paid for their worth.

How to start: Start writing every day. Create a portfolio with impressive samples. To do so, you may have to work for less than your ideal income, but it’s essential to have a portfolio to work your way up the ladder. I also recommend creating a profile on one of the blogging websites like Medium and getting into the habit of writing there each day. Once you build your audience here, it can also serve as an open portfolio.
