The Surreals Release a Charity Auction and their Second Free Claim Event

The improvement of this is through the introduction of a more advanced Merkle Tree implementation. This implementation moves beyond a simple index of addresses to mint quantities, and introduces array values to indexes. This allows us to have an ever expanding and changing Merkle Tree, as each addition to the array that maps to a given address is all of the information needed for each claim there is. Creating a system wherein each leaf of the Merkle tree contains an entire users claim history, from drop #1 to every conceivable drop into the future, allows for so much more than a single verification of a users holdings.

This not only improves the ability for claims to be conducted, it additionally increases the effectiveness of backwards compatability, recording the claim value of previous events and so much more. This single Merkle Tree then allows for the re-creation of months to years of claims and claim eligibility data.

All of this will lead to a single collection containing each of the upcoming Surrivatives drops in one place. Meaning each time a Surreals holder collects a new Surrivative in their collection, they’ll see this represented immediately amongst the other Surrivative drops they have claimed.

Alongside the free to claim piece, the Surreals team has additionally put together a charity auction. This charity auction will be conducted on OpenSea and run for 3 days. The funds from this auction will all be going to a charity selected by the artist to benefit Ukrainian Children.

Through the use of an upgradable contract, all of these changes will occur on the same exact collection. Allowing the ability to upgrade and update the charity collection, without requiring the creation of any additional or new smart contracts.

Our work with the Surreals team doesn’t just end with this. In the upcoming releases for the Surrivatives drop we will be bringing 100% of the auction in house. This update will mean that 100% of all of the funds can go to charity in the future, as no platform fees will be taken for the charitable auction. This will be paired with additional updates that will make the experience with the Surreals and Surrivatives online all the more pleasant.
