Pacquiao vs Ugas

In a year the boxing community has witnessed multiple excellent matchups canceled for various reasons, fans have faced yet another setback. This weekend, we have a less appetizing entree than the Pacquiao Spence delight we had on the platter only 10 days ago. However, on its own, this matchup should be intruiging for the true boxing fan. Manny Pacquiao will try his explosive rapid-fire style against a technical Cuban boxer in Yordenis Ugas.

The Pacquiao fan in me wants Manny to retire healthy, so I would root for Ugas on points. The Ugas fan in me also doesn’t want Yordenis to lose another big fight. The Errol Spence fan in me wants Pacquiao to win and face Errol.

I believe Yordenis Ugas can and should outbox Manny Pacquiao to a victory. I cannot determine if justice will be served by the appointed judges. That’s boxing.

It’s not the matchup we wanted, but God is sovereign. We’ll see what’s next once this is settled.
