Social media is an interactive medium wherein users are able to easily distribute content with the public. In view of the pandemic we are facing today, it is hard to disseminate information because of the protocols we need to follow, but with the help of social media platforms, some has the opportunity to receive news about the current state of our country. It is also a platform for academic-related matters, a platform to advertise online businesses, companies, etc. Thus, with today’s situation, social media is a life saver as it makes the authorities’ job less difficult to inform the netizens.

Over the past years, life did change drastically and this is with the help of the evolution of media. Despite significant technological changes, people in the past were still able to be kept up-to-date through print and traditional media such as newspapers, magazines, radio, television, etc. The media back then gives out credible yet delayed information whereas the social media has the element of getting them accurately in real time. If it weren’t for the mass media’s progress it wouldn’t be as easy as today to inform the people. Most importantly, it is what everyone needs during the pandemic — being informed.
